Jewish Books And The Jewish Holocaust

The Jewish community has traversed a series of attacks all through its history. But, the most horrifying of all these was the Jewish holocaust which commenced in 1933 when Hitler rose to Power. Several million people attracted the negative attention of the Nazi forces. Millions of people were ruthlessly murdered during the Jewish holocaust while numerous native populations were devastated; the Jews suffered the worst with a third of the entire Jewish population being wiped out in the Jewish holocaust. The Internet carries a number of Jewish books on various facets of the Jewish holocaust.

Hitler's Dictatorial Powers And The Jewish Holocaust

In March 1933 several events lead up to Hitler assuming dictatorial powers. With absolute power available to him, a sophisticated military and police force was developed by Hitler.

This force was then effectively used to silence anyone who dared to criticize the authority. The first concentration camps stemmed from this. 1934 saw further aggressive postures adopted by the Nazis against the Jews resulting in massive exodus of Jews to neighboring European countries which provided safety for a while. But, the worst was yet to come as far as the Jewish holocaust was concerned. Detailed account of the entire holocaust has been carried in a number of Jewish books, some of which can be accessed through the internet.

The Peak Of The Jewish Holocaust

In 1938, 32 countries met in Evian, a French town to discuss refugee problem arising out of the Nazi action. While no conclusive action emerged from the meeting, Hitler was emboldened to pursue his act of purging the Jews away from territories held by him. After the World War II started in 1939, Jewish ghettos were established in Poland. Deplorable conditions prevailed in the ghettos and several people died from the inhuman conditions. June 1941 witnessed the attack on the Soviet Union and with that, the Nazis launched a systematic butchering of undesirables. Over a million people were gathered in batches, shot dead and thrown into open graves. Similar operations continued during the Jewish holocaust with more death camps springing up. Healthy people from the camps were put to work till they were drained of all their energy. The atrocities reigned supreme till the Nazis were finally defeated by the Soviet Union in 1945. While the Jewish holocaust rendered about 6 million Jews dead only about 200,000 survived the Jewish holocaust.

A number of Jewish books have been written some of them with a concise description of the events, while the other Jewish books provide a blow by blow account. There are also publications which in some way seek to justify Hitler's actions.

Jewish Books

The Jewish books can be broadly classified into two categories - one dealing with the travails the community has faced over several thousand years, and particularly the holocaust and the other Jewish books dealing with Judaism and its tenets.

Among Jewish books on Judaism, the prominent one is the Jewish bible which is also known the "Hebrew Scriptures" or "The Hebrew Bible" or "The Old Testament".

A series of Jewish books have been written on the holocaust. The Jewish book titled "Kristallnacht: Prelude to Destruction" gives a detailed account of the persistent anti Jewish actions of the Germans on a persistent scale much before the holocaust happened.
